A Visit Home

Written by Cathy Siegismund
February 2002

On February 4, I flew home for a two week visit to Seattle to visit friends, run errands and celebrate, my good friend's 40th birthday. It was great, through cold,  to be back in Seattle, only my second time in 1 1/2 years. It was great to spend time catching up with friends.

I had a few errands, though it wasn't as crazy as when I flew home from Mexico, where I filled 10 suitcases with things we couldn't find in Mexico.

I brought some things home from the boat we didn't need any longer like tour books and charts of places we've already visited. I also brought home two pieces of art to be framed.

My friend, Keli, was again kind enough to let me stay at her house. We spent a good bit of time watching the Olympics and I was entertained paying with her new Chow puppy.

I also made a 3-day trip to eastern Washington to Ken's Dad's house. I visited and picked up some additional winter cloths and a few other things we might need during our stay in New Zealand. As we plan to stay in New Zealand through the winter, our first winter in 2 years, we will probably need to bundle up!

The high point of the trip was my friend, Ellie's 40th birthday party.

My two weeks in Seattle went fast, and it was great to see everyone. However, I was ready to head back to the boat, which has become home no matter where it is.
